How To Overcome Download Timers When Using Opera Mini Versions

Custom Search
This post specifically discusses on how to make the download link appear when downloading files with download timers, by the use of opera mini 4 versions. Such websites are 4shared.com, rapidshare.com, etc. I had my nokia 3310classic equipped with opera mini 4.2. The browsing is free and incredibly fast, and I started downloading files for it from internet. One time, I attempted downloading MP3s from 4shared.com. I proceeded and took sight of the page with download timers. It says download link will appear in 10 seconds.Well, I don't have a premium membership for 4shared. So, what to do now is to make the download link appear. What i did are the following:
  • When you are on the page that has download timer on it, on your opera mini, go to MENU, then ENTER ADDRESS, then press fire or OK. This is to produce a Refresh/Reload effectthat will eventually result to the appearance of the link. By doing so, the page will reload causing the download timer to move down to 9 seconds. Take note that reloading it by going to MENU,TOOLS, then RELOAD won't be effective and will direct you to the beginning page.
  • Everytime you reload, it will cause the download timer to drop by 1 second. Although it will sound timely and tiresome, you will be glad to find the link at the end of the timer. In a 10sec-timer, you'll be needing 9 reloads using my procedures.
  • Actually, you'll need to be more tricky. You can choose not to wait for the first reload to be finished for you to reload it again. When you reload and operamini is connecting, you can --CANCEL the reload after about a fraction of a second and do the reload again using my procedures aforementioned. Then CANCEL and RELOAD and all over again. For example, RELOAD-CANCEL-RELOAD-CANCEL-RELOAD-CANCEL-RELOAD-CANCEL-RELOAD. With this you had already made 5 reloads instantly, causing the timer to move down to 4 seconds remaining.
  • After several not-so-serious efforts of doing the pattern, you will finally see the download link! Click it, and download your file!
  • In rapidshare.com, there is a 30second-timer, so you'll need to exert more effort on it.
  • By the way, if you have a UCweb browser, you don't need to do this. I can tell you a much easier way to make the link appear using your UCweb.

READ PDF DOCUMENTS ON MOBILE PHONES

Reading is one of the greatest pleasures a person could ever have in his or her life. Through reading, we are learning different things, and acquiring knowledge that adds up to our understanding about the world and the whole universe. That is why I really like this hobby of mine, because I am really fond of exploring and discovering something new. Today, I'm reading books about history and early civilizations. I can read it whenever I want to, and wherever I go. Because I'm reading it on my mobile phone (S40). I'm sure we are all familiar about e-books here. Electronic books are books that can be read through an electronic device, and these are really awesome. I have a bunch of these in my Nokia 3110c. Thick and heavy books are old stuffs, the idea of having e-books is very much welcomed to the readers in this modern world. For S40 phones, you can have .jar (Java) format of e-books, and you can download these from a lot of river for free. I have the list of websites for free e-books and audiobooks here. How about PDF documents? Can we read it on our mobile phones? The answer is yes. These are third party applications that we can download to they PDF files, and one is MobilePDF. Hey, I'm not recommending you to use MobilePDF. Actually, using our opera mini browsers, we can they PDF documents. And take note, we don't need to download the file to our phones, so with the PDF viewer and read it offline. As far as I know, mobile PDF viewers could not read very large files, and based on my experience, these could only handle files on bigger than 600 kb. We can just use our browsers, and the best one is Opera Mini. Can Opera Mini read PDF files? No, but it can read .txt and .html files, and a lot more. Different from another web browser for mobile, the UCWeb browser has the capability to preview a PDF file before you download it. See my post about the different mobile web browsers with their unique features here. Since Opera Mini can't read PDF files but can read others, we can just use some free online conversion tools to contest, using the url of the particular PDF. The idea is the same as how Yahoo! provide the user the option to they the PDF as an html file, when it appears on the search engine results. That's a good thing, that we can use Yahoo! search engine for a particular PDF document we want to read as html. Google has also its own ways of doing the conversion. But what if a specific PDF file does not appear in search engines? That is just the case in scribd.com mobile version. Scribd.com has the largest collection of PDF documents that are user-submitted and contains information on almost everything under the sun. I consider this site as one of the best places for repository of knowledge, and the very nice idea of reading these on mobile phones motivated me to find some ways of accomplishing it. Luckily, I found the site for the PDF to html conversion. It is one of Adobe's free online tools which is the best tool I had encountered to directly convert PDF to html just by specifying the PDF url and the one that works on mobile phones. There are a lot of sites that offer free online conversion for PDF but they do not work for mobile phones when any browsers. And now, I will be teaching you how to view a PDF file (particularly Scribd's PDF documents) in an Opera Mini v4.2. Here are the steps. 1. Open Opera Mini and go to www.scribd.com/mobile. 2. Use the search button to search over millions of PDF's and choose whatever you want to read. 3. Click download. 4. You will be directed to a said where you can see a SAVE and OPEN option. Don't click any of the two. You are now on the direct url of the PDF file. Go to Menu, Tools, Add Bookmark, and copy the link in the textbox. 5. Now go to this address: http://access.adobe.com/access/ 6. Paste the PDF url on the url box below. 7. Fill-up the remaining boxes. Choose the format. Text files are of smaller size compared to html files but are lacking in content format. 8. Choose the reason why you are not using Adobe Reader to read the PDF, then on the type of platform you will view the file, choose Handheld device. 9. Click CONVERT. 10. You will be directed to a said where you can PDF a loading bar. It means that Adobe is in the process of converting the PDF. Now you should do the following: a. MENU, ENTER ADDRESS, OK, STOP (1) MENU, ENTER ADDRESS, OK, STOP (2) MENU, ENTER ADDRESS, OK, STOP (3) MENU, ENTER ADDRESS, OK (4) b. MENU, TOOLS, RELOAD. Step 10a tells us to go to that same address and step 11b, to reload the page. Take note that they are different things. Although this maybe an unfavorable job, it will eventually lead you to the converted file that you can download. The number of times you will perform the 11a cycle depends on the size of the PDF. The larger the size, the longer the conversion will take. For a 1mb size, you need about 30-40 cycles.

Power-Up Your S40 Phone

Series 40 (S40) software platform is the application user interface (UI) software on Nokia's broad range of mobile devices. Actually, it is the world's most widely used mobile device platform that runs millions on mobile devices. It supports different kinds of functions such as telephone, messaging, email client (with POP3 and IMAP4 capabilities), bluetooth, web browser, media applications such as camera, video recorder, music/video player, and FM radio, plus personal information management applications such as calendar, notes, reminders, etc. It is also capable of running Java applications (Java MIDP) and Flash applications. But these features of S40 phones are of on match to S60 phones, for sure. The S60 phones run on Symbian operating system. These phones are capable of doing a wider range of tasks since the system is much advance than the S40. S60 phones can do what S40 can plus other outstanding features such as running Symbian C++ applications (.sis) and ability to access and configure the system itself. Must we conclude that whatever we do, S40 phones cannot surpass the capabilities of the S60 phones? No.S40 phones can be as powerful as S60 phones. All we need to do is to explore and discover all the features of our phones and use all of these. The productivity of the device still depends on the user, just like the way computers cannot function without peopleware, although equipped with the best software and hardware out there. The idea is to provide power-ups for S40 phones which will make our S40 phones as powerful as S60 phones or much even powerful. When I see people using S60 phones, I don't feel regret that I bought a much cheaper phone. But, I feel happy because, most people, I see them doing nothing amazing with their phones. They are only using the default functions of their phones, the default applications, and default settings. Many of them has not yet explored and discovered all the features of their phones the way I did. That's why their phones are not as much productive as it should be. There are third party applications that can be downloaded for FREE on your mobile phones. These power-ups for your phones will increase its productivity. On my future posts, I will provide you a list of powerful applications that you can download for your S40 phones. To begin, click here.
